Sinarmas World Academy
The idea of the school grew from a vision of Indah Wijaya who understands that education has long been recognized as the key to improving life – both for individuals, families and society. We all seek to provide the best education that we can. In today’s rapidly changing world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to know exactly what sort of education is needed to prepare our children for a world where many of the industries or jobs they will work in do not yet exist. This requires specific skills and attitudes that are not part of many contemporary school curriculums. John Dewey captured this thought in his quote “If we teach our children as we did yesterday, we rob them of the future.”
“That future is an exciting one, which we face with great optimism for our youth, our nation and the world. While the globalization of the world economy, the rapid creation of new knowledge and new ways in which we communicate is redefining our lives it is also challenging how we define ourselves and impacting heavily on our environment. It is important that our young people are also educated with a strong sense of their own identity and a commitment to contributing to society and the world.”
It is with great enthusiasm that the Tjiptamas Eka Bangsa Foundation responds to these challenges and seeks to provide an education that “embraces the future and embraces Asia” and combines educational best practice, with committed and caring educators to provide a rigorous, relevant, creative and truly engaging and empowering education.
