The Commons/Café space in each Small Learning Community and in the central commons, located in the Global Learning Center, provides a true indoor ‘public space’, as defined by Jan Gehl, with thoroughfares, meeting places, and a ‘marketplace’ functions at many levels and operates continually to make the space lively and stimulating.
