Adan graduated from the University of Maryland with a double major in Architecture and Environmental Design. With research experience in sustainable urbanism and energy modeling, he is highly interested in the convergence between sustainability and design of the built environment. Utilizing parametric 3D modeling software such as Revit, Rhinoceros, and Grasshopper, Adan executes holistic environmental design analyses which aids in aesthetic and conceptual design. This analysis includes passive lighting, heat gain, indoor comfort, and life-cycle analysis among others. Adan is continuing his research with FNI, discovering how producing environmentally friendly buildings will create more successful learning environments.
At the University of Maryland, Adan works as a Teaching Assistant for courses in Archeology and History of Architecture. Through this experience, Adan gains a greater appreciation for the education profession and an interest for aiding in the development of the industry through architecture and research.
Adan loves both playing and watching baseball. He volunteers coaching little league baseball, and at the Neighborhood Design Center in Baltimore. His three favorite quotes are 3. “When there is a fork in the road take it.” – Yogi Berra 2. “When I’m working on a problem, I never think about beauty. But when I’ve finished if the solution is not beautiful I know it’s wrong.”- R. Buckminster Fuller. 1. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
