Marisa is an Associate Designer at FNI’s Rhode Island Studio. She graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2015. Marisa’s interest in modernizing the education system began while she was a student at RWU after she was selected to travel to a rural town in China, where she taught English at a middle school. This volunteer program was funded by Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Previous experience includes internships with Oyster Works and the United States Naval War College. Her time at Oyster Works taught her about the importance of freehand sketching and client relations, while her time at the United States Naval War College helped her realize that the current learning modalities in today’s institutions are not optimized for the technology that is now available. While at RWU she was also a member of the school’s highly competitive Design-Build team.
At FNI, Marisa currently plays a key role in the Fisher Price Play Lab and the American School of London projects, and previously on Corbett Preparatory Academy. Marisa has invaluable knowledge of 3D and parametric modeling and her expertise in Revit has allowed the office to streamline production. She also enjoys the visualization process and is always looking for new photoshop tricks to create incredible renderings. Marisa believes that through her knowledge of good design, and her passion for education, she can help pave the way for innovative and creative learning in schools.
