What’s the Minneapolis Studio Talking About Now?
Canteens! We’ve been creating a canteen for our new school in Tongxiang. We wanted the space to unite many other areas,
so the way people flow through it is important. In other words, we didn’t want to block people from passing through, but
we also wanted the space to be welcoming and a place to eat, study or just chill. The sketch on the left below shows how we
tried to work this out. The rendering on the right shows the result of our thinking process. Seating areas are scattered and
placed away from the main traffic patterns. It’s all about the flow.
