focused on youth and families within a
vibrant thriving neighbourhood, in North
Central Regina, that is a partnership
between community, schools and service
providers working collaboratively to
improve outcomes in the determinants of
health and social well being.”
- NCSF Steering Committee Mission StatementThe joining together of multiple service providers in a brand new working relationship to
deliver services from a single site in a vibrant, thriving community is revolutionary,
innovative, and inspiring. The concept for a Shared Facility in North Central Regina is an
initiative that will contribute to the overall efforts to revitalize the community, improve
the quality of life for its residents, initiate economic growth and long-term viability, and

Centres of Excellence that integrate service organizations and learning programs. One

The commons brings in great southern daylight from a series of rooftop light monitors
connecting visitors to the time of day and season. Large glass bays to the east bring in
great views of the central green, and help keep the space warm in the winter. The thick
masonry wall shown in red absorbs the heat energy from the sun and slowly releases it,
keeping the space warm while acting as a sound insulator for the Multipurpose Room. -
