The Conference is the biggest in Canada for independent schools, and includes workshops, guest speakers, school tours, and the CAIS Annual General Meeting. A large group of conference participants visited Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School, located in a spectacular natural setting, with culture and curriculum steeped in an outdoor ethic. In partnership with the school community, FNI designed the Master Plan, and then created a large new addition and renovation for the school which opened in the Fall of this year.
From Dr. Bill Jones, a conference speaker and the former Head of School at STS, to Randy Fielding, Founding Partner of FNI, and project leader:
“I wanted to share with you that all of the Heads and Board Chairs of our organization (CAIS) met for their annual conference in Calgary this week. Part of the program included a tour of the school for the approximately 200 delegates from across Canada. I can tell you that the response was overwhelmingly positive, and I fielded many questions, especially “Who was your architect?” People were raving about the building throughout the day and so you may get some phone calls in the weeks ahead. You would have been very proud to hear the effusive feedback.”
Thanks, Bill, for relaying this response to us! You and your school were excellent collaborators, and this is one of our favorite projects.
