Katie plays a key role in all phases of the design process, specializing in creating material palettes that are innovative and support today’s learning environments. In her designs, she combines materials and finishes to reinforce dynamic interior concepts. Her years in the fast-paced world of retail design contribute to her passion for interior design. Her previous design experience allowed her to explore new materials and develop spaces that were original and on trend. She brings this fresh thinking to educational interiors and explores ways to engage the students and teachers with their environment in a positive, comfortable and inspiring way.
She started her career at Fielding Nair International as an independent contractor assisting on projects in Florida, Cayman Islands and Dubai. This then led to her full time position with FNI, where she continues to be a positive team member contributing on multiple projects. Katie’s recent projects include the International School in Kazan, St. Paul’s Middle School in St. Petersburg, FL, Academy of Holy Names in Tampa, FL, Corbett Prep in Tampa, FL and the Fisher Price Play Lab.
Katie has received a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design degree from the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning. This provided her with the proper tools in technology, design principals and a strong understanding of space. She is passionate about design and continues to educate herself by staying current with technology and up to date with finishes and products. She also brings a strong willingness to create creative, innovative learning environments for today’s children and the children of tomorrow.
