Kimberly Light brings to us over 15 years of design experience having worked with Gensler, an award winning architectural firm, specializing in interior architecture and workplace strategy. Her experience includes workplace and portfolio strategy across a variety of client industries. This experience becomes a valuable resource for new perspectives and approaches to educational design thinking.
Kimberly has worked on all phases of interior architectural projects giving her the knowledge of a project from start to finish. Problem solving is her specialty, from meeting the needs of the client’s program during space planning through implementation of quality design. A background in psychology along with her experience in residential architecture has enhanced her understanding of the built environment as it is exclusively designed for its users.
She is a professional and hardworking individual with a positive attitude, dynamic spirit, and a passion for sustainability. Kimberly’s current projects include the Obersee Bilingual School in Switzerland and Bancroft Elementary School in Washington, DC.
Kimberly has participated in multiple studio juries at the College of Architecture and Design at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Having been a member of the winning team of the inaugural competition in 2003, she has been an annual juror for the NJIT Design/Build Masonry Competition where students are tasked to design a space for learning and build a full-scale mock-up of their designs in close collaboration with masonry professionals.
